Not Your Average Action Movie Blog

Being the hardest working man in action movies can bring a lot of stress, even to a hard dude like myself. Don’t get me wrong I would never complain, but Autograph signings, rehearsals, traveling to third world countries, researching roles, knowing how to use high-tech weapons, breaking beautiful ladies hearts on the regular, keeping tan and perfectly sculpted pectorals can at some points get a tiny bit strenuous. My Sensei was reading into my stress as I was unable to do my daily splits while eating my egg whites. So he suggested that I need some tranquility and should blog his favorite movie that was released in 2005, the Japanese feature A Bittersweet Life.

Since I am so fluent in reading English subtitles I couldn’t decline my master’s request, because he is wicked smart and way smarter than Mr. Miagi. After I read the first 5 plot Keywords on IMDB- Shot In the Heart, Shot in the Head, Extreme Violence, Buried Alive, Hotel Bar Shootout Fight- I knew this movie would bring some tranquility back into my life.

Since it is a South Korean movie it shows off so many Eastern Philosophies including: Revenge on your Boss Man who tried to dismember your body parts, Always Save a hot Asian women, Kill or be Killed, A one man army can sometimes be unstoppable, these beliefs are great rules to live by. This movie might not have any naked breasts or muscular dudes fighting shirtless, arm wrestling or chopper assaults but it was so inventive when it came to fight sequences.

Highlight fights that lead action star was involved and overcame: Gun V Knife fight one on one in the middle of the ice in a hockey arena - Cell Phone Battery used as weapon in the eyeball - Race against opponent in putting together a 3 piece pistol, loser gets shot - Fighting with flaming 2x4’s – Uppercutted into a empty grave then buried alive – Warehouse hanging – Shot off finger - Shot through the side of his head to only continue taking down bad guys in hotel/bar blowout.

This man was tested far beyond anything I have ever witnessed in the history of movies made after 2005 and gave me a new understanding of thresholds to pain. This movie gave me a great peace of mind and that strong burst of adrenaline I needed to continue to entertain in the best way I know how, through my action packed lifestyle.

Check It Out!
