In serious news this week an American Icon, Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Now this is upsetting news to any person who is human or has a heart. He is one of America’s favorite Action Stars with an amazing ability to captivate huge audiences and even made dancing cool.
Now we can all cry and be sad when looking at the odds of people surviving this evil disease but Patrick doesn’t want that from us. They say 95% of people do not survive this kind of cancer, my math isn’t the best but that would leave 5% of the population being able to survive and make a comeback. 5% of the population would obviously be the upper echelon of naturally gifted action oriented people including the following individuals Arnold, Dolph, Stallone, Karl, Van Dam, Weller, Keith David, Brad Harris, Mike Stone, obviously Patrick and a few others, so he is in the elite percentile which is promising.
If that isn’t enough proof that Patrick will lay the Smackdown on cancer here is a list of accomplishments backing up his immortal status. He survived a broken leg when falling off a horse in the filming of Letters From A Killer. Was originally approached to play the Lead in Predator II but had to decline due to his busy schedule and him knowing that the script wouldn’t rival the original. He was chosen as People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 1991. He is a fully recovered alcoholic. Proved his critics wrong that he can do Comedy just as good as any overweight comedian on SNL in 1990. Swayze changed it up when he portrayed the coolest hockey player in a movie of all time, with awesome hair and way tougher than Rob Low in the sport classic, Young Blood. Starred in Point Break, Dirty Dancing, Ghost, Red Dawn and most importantly Road House. Took down the ultimate bad guy Brad Wesley(Ben Gazzara) in one of the most climactic finishes ever in Roadhouse. After repeated Action Blockbuster box office success he decided to take a step away from the Action limelight, but continued to shine throughout the nineties and 2000’s with Roadhouse being awesome every time it aired on network Television.
There is not a question Swayze will make a full recovery, we all know how hard he trains and how focused he gets when he sets his sight on a goal. I firmly believe this will be an epic story of a triumphant comeback. Not to mention this will be a perfect transition back into Action Superstardom. Unlike Predator II Patrick will most likely agree to costar in the third installment of the best Action Series ever as Mike Stone’s Army Commander. See you soon Patrick and good luck!

unfortunately smoking three packs of cigarettes per day will most likely be the catalyst that allows this cancer to get the best of him. I don't want to see him overcome by this disease but all the training in the world will not undo the damage cigarettes are doing to his body. I pray for the best for him.
